  1. Thames Path, Castle Eaton – Greenshank, Green Sandpiper, 12 Teal, 10 Gadwall, 15 Tufted Ducks, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Kestrel, Reed Bunting, Yellowhammers, 3 Pied Wagtails. Large passage of gulls (c1000) flying over heading eastward; no doubt to lakes 125/6 – Steve Davies.

Lower Mill, 44/57 – 26 different types of bird were spotted today, including Red Kite (1), Grey Herons(2), Little Egrets(3), 1 Red Crested pochard(lake 44) and a Kingfisher.(Lake56)

Red Admirals & a few White butterflies were around.

Other sights included many pairs of Red darters oviposting over lake 56,(surprisingly). Surely too late in the year? Also seen an unknown caterpillar heading for the spine Road, and a stoat emerging from a hole in a tree carrying the remains of an over-friendly Rabbit. Felicity Cobb/U3A birders.

Blakehill – Peregrine, 2 Stonechats, Snipe, Grey Wagtail, 5 Reed Buntings, Chiffchaff, c12 Skylarks one of them singing briefly, c10 Meadow Pipits, c5 Linnets – Robin Griffiths.

South Cerney – Bittern flying SW over the Ashton Keynes road between Cirencester and South Cerney this evening SU03682 97817 – Mike Cook.
