A Great White Egret spent much of this morning standing in a field between CWP 22 and CWP 25 viewed from the Spine Road.  Kim  Milsom

20 Little Egrets came in to roost on CWP 17 (viewed across pit 16). A Mediterranean Gull was in the CWP 16 roost.   Kim Milsom

Ashton Keynes: Garden sighting – first Brimstone Butterfly of the year.   Richard Vernon.

Also about 40 Common Frogs in garden pond plus at least 7 Smooth Newts.  Today we had the first spawn from the frogs, 1 day earlier than last year.    John Grearson

John Grearson also reported a colour-ringed Black-headed Gull at CWP 12 yesterday.  It had been ringed as a chick in June 2013 at CWP 9 and had been seen twice since in the Severn estuary.    It is worth keeping any eye open for any colour ringed birds.
