CWP 6:  26 Coots, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Cormorants, 11 Tufted Ducks, 2 Mute Swans, 6 Mallards, 2 Black-headed Gulls, 3 Moorhens, 3 Cetti’s Warblers, 1 Grey Wagtail and 1 Reed Bunting.    Kim Milsom

This website receives sightings of all species.  Whilst it is primarily birds that are reported, one species that holds a special interest for many is the otter. A healthy population of otters is now known to reduce the impact of north american mink and to eat the signal crayfish that have infiltrated our lakes.  Unfortunately the CWP Trust has become aware of 2 otters that have been killed on the roads in the CWP over the past fortnight.  This may be an indication of a healthy population in the area but please be aware of these animals particularly where roads cross streams and river corridors.
