Today there were 2 Marsh Harrier females (1 probable immature) present at 10.30 around CWP68c and 74.   The second bird was seen to fly in from CWP 72 direction and then flew off towards Cerney Wick.     Nigel Pleass.  Shane  & Geoff Faulkner

Whitethroat (Martin Adlam)

CWP 74:   Nightingale at Twitchers gate, plus 6 Black tailed Godwit and an Oystercatcher,  5 Greenshank flew over.     There are also 2 male and one female Garganey on the scrapes but not at present visible from the gate.    5 Red-crested Pochard, 3 Lapwing, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 adult Great Black-backed Gull, 1 Cuckoo, 2 Lesser Whitethroat.   Hobby (first report) and Swift.    Nigel Pleass.    Martin Adlam.   Malcolm Royal.   Shane  & Geoff Faulkner

From a walk around Cleveland Lakes: (some may duplicate above)   8 Greylag Geese, 4 Canadian Geese, 7 Shelduck over, 3 Gadwall, 14 Red Crested Pochard, Tufted Duck, 16 Great Crested Grebe, 5 Little Egret, 4 Grey Heron, 4 Buzzard, Sparrow Hawk, 2 Moorhen, Coot, 2 Lapwing, Black-Headed Gull, Lesser Black-Backed Gull, Common Tern, 4 Stock Dove, 3 Swift, 2 Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, 3 Skylark, Sand Martin, House Martin, Swallows, Pied Wagtail, 3 Song Thrush, 30+ Blackcap, 2 Garden Warbler, 25+ Whitethroat, 8 Lesser Whitethroat, Cetti’s Warbler, Sedge & Reed Warbler, many Chiffchaff & Willow Warbler in song, Goldcrest, Great tit, Blue Tit, Long-Tailed Tit, Chaffinch, 6 Goldfinch, 5 Reed Bunting. 2 Red Fox, Shrew and Roe Deer.    Shane  & Geoff Faulkner

CWP 82: Thames Path.    Whinchat    Nigel Pleass

Waterhay:  Cuckoo at CWP 68c.  Nightingale singing in scrubland just inside the gateway from the bridle way into Cleveland path and a Garden Warbler further along the track.  Cetti’s Warblers and Reed warblers heard from several locations around 68c and d.  Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming at junction of bridleway and 68d Thames Path.   Fox.   Nigel Pleass.
