During a breeding bird survey of the CWP 74 Scrape & New Reedbed, birds recorded were:   Warblers in Song – 4 Cetti’s, 3 Reed, 7 Sedge, 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Whitethroat, 1 Blackcap and 1 Willow Warbler. 9 Reed buntings, 1 Mute Swan nest, 2 Coot broods and 2 nests, 5 Moorhens, 4 Shoveler, 6 Teal, 1 Red-crested Pochard, 12 Mallard, 2 Tufted Duck, 8 Canada Geese, 2 Greylag Geese, 12 Gadwall, 1 Wigeon, 2 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Greenshank, 2 Snipe, 5 Black-tailed Godwits, 6 Lapwings, 1 Curlew, 1 Sparrowhawk, 28 Black-headed Gulls and 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.    Also a Roe Deer and, on CWP 68a, a Common Sandpiper.   Kim Milsom
