Shorncote Reedbed: this morning – 3 Little Egrets, 20 Teal, 6-7 Water Rail calling, 1 Snipe, 150 + Lapwings and 80+ Golden Plover in flight, 4 singing Cetti’s Warbler, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Raven, 1 Grey Wagtail, m Stonechat, 20 Redwings, 4 Chiffchaffs, 10 Reed Buntings, 4 Bullfinches, 2 Yellowhammers, Goldcrest (Jon Mercer)

North Meadow, River Thames: a Kingfisher (Huw Jones)

Cleveland lakes: By reed hide; 1 m Goldeneye, pair Gadwall, 100 goldfinches on teasel heads around hide, 1 Chiffchaff and on Lake 68a/68b: 2 m Goldeneye (Huw Jones)

Kent End Farm: 100 Canada Goose, 210 Lapwings (Huw Jones)

Shorncote Reedbed: Barn Owl hunting in fields at dusk. Large number of starlings in murmuration and settling in reedbed. (Huw Jones)

CWP305: 2 Peregrines (at one time together on a small island); 4 Shelduck; and a Nuthatch and Green Woodpecker along the road (John Durell)

Great Northern Divers – a number reported inland around the UK at present….please keep an eye out around the CWP over Christmas!
