A few butterfly sightings today from Ashton Keynes and Cricklade:

Bradstone Playing Field.   holly blue, common blue, small copper, gatekeeper, meadow brown, peacock, brimstone, small white, green-veined white and a comma nearby.  Richard Vernon

The Millenium Green Big Butterfly Count was as follows :- Brimstone 1, Gatekeeper 9, Meadow Brown 7, Large White 1, Small White 1, Common Blue 3, Small Copper 1 & Peacock 1. several Brown Argus.  The buddleia bushes are in full flower at the moment and only held a single Peacock.     John Grearson

The Dance Common, Cricklade Big Butterfly Count was :- Large Skipper 2, Gatekeeper 6, Common Blue 5 & Meadow Brown 2.  Brown Argus 2, Essex & Small Skipper (lots).     John Grearson

Ashton Keynes:  On the bird front a Coal Tit has been singing near the garden with fleeting glimpses of it at feeders.   John Grearson
