Waterhay:   2 Garden Warblers, 5 Whitethroat, 2 Bullfinch, 1 Raven, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 5 Blue tits, 2 Great tits, 1 Song Thrush, 5 Blackbirds, 4 Dunnocks, 1 Wren, 2 Robins. 4  magpie.   Neil Cowley

Big Butterfly Counts at Ashton Keynes Millenium Green: The first was around the Buddleia bushes near the pond producing 18 butterflies of 7 species, the best being 5 Red Admirals.   The second in the Cuckoo Pen which is a small wild flower meadow, which produced 25 butterflies/moths of 8 species the commonest being 11 Common Blues (most butterflies in the Cuckoo Pen were feeding on Marjoram flowers). Also present were Small Skipper and at least 8 Brown Argus, which has not been recorded there before.  Neither of these 2 species is officially counted in this Count.  The photos show Brown Argus with a comparative underside shot of a Common Blue.     John Grearson
