Shorncote: Coot, moorhen, mallard, tufted duck (inc. 4 ducklings), mute swan (inc. 2 cygnets), Canada goose, grey heron, greenfinch, pied wagtails, house martin, carrion crow, jackdaw, magpie, wood pigeon, black-headed gull, common tern (3 adults, 2 fledglings), great crested grebe (inc.2 juv.), lapwing, snipe, redshank. 2 cormorant. Dance Common, Cricklade: 21 butterflies of 8 species for Big Butterfly Count, plus a further 3 species which are not included in the scheme because of difficulties in identifying them. The latter species were Small and Essex Skipper and Brown Argus. Others species seen include a Migrant Hawker and a female of the scarce sawfly Tenthredo omissa (this being new to this location).
