Cleveland Lakes:   1 Red Kite at 12.40 hrs, 1 Whimbrel calling, 1 Greenshank, 7+ Common Tern, 7 Red Crested Pochard, 1 male Pochard, 2 Green Woodpecker, 1 Hobby.   Terry Grant

Ashton Keynes:  Two species of Cuckoo Bumblebees in the garden, mainly on scabious and knapweed flowers.  They are the Southern cuckoo bumblebee (Bombus vestalis) which apparently attacks mainly Buff-tailed Bumblebees (B. terrestris), and The Red-tailed cuckoo Bumblebee (Bombus rupestris) which attacks mainly Red-tailed Bumblebees (B. lapidarius).  The bees in the photos are both males.   John Grearson
